Myself and LSMB
It is often said that children change your life, while to some extent that maybe true; but don’t some of the things in everyday life have a more profound affect on you than children, at least I think so. For me, my son is my life, and to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My SLMB (Sexy Lil Man Beast) just wants to be loved, as any other child in the world. Yes, he may want every single toy he sees a commercial for, but at the end of the day all he wants is for his wonderful parents to love him, and most importantly return that love back to us. Love is the cheapest thing to give, yet yields the biggest return in life.
Let me explain the wonderful joys of parenting and its simplicity. I’ve been talking to my sons principal and teachers (Educators), about bringing worm composting into the class room, as a learning experience, and it is finally coming to fruition. So, on Wednesday, when my mornings are open, his teacher (Educator) asked me to talk to the class about wormcomposting. This in itself was fun to do. To see how a bunch of second graders responded to me, felt great, but the kicker was when one of his classmates pointed out that we had matching socks. When he got home from school, I happened to be home. Which was a welcoming surprise for my SLMB, as I tend to work on Wednesday’s.

Two of a Kind
I told my son we had to go to the supermarket, and for him not to change cloths. My son started to roll up his pants, and when I asked why, he told me “because we have the same socks, and I want to be like you dad!” So while his pants rolled up didn’t look as fashionable as mine, I didn’t care. We went to the supermarket and showed off our matching socks.

Wow, that was really nice. I always appreciate seeing fathers stepping up and being dads too. I missed out on that, so Im gonna have to be twice as good for my own kids now.
GREAT POST!!
Aw, you make me so proud lil bro! Check you out! I love, love, love the blog. You go! What a loving sweet post! Beautiful.
Thanks! Learning as I go but having fun with it.
Thank you for this post. You are a dying breed and I for one am glad and proud to see you showing the world that a good man comes in every color. It’s not always easy, but anything worth having never is. I’m gonna make sure my hubby knows I appreciate him. Thank You
Thanks!!!!!!!
Isn’t it amazing how a child will emulate everything we do, right down to the socks?! There is no greater form of flattery then someone following your lead and SLMB loves his Daddy!
Wow! You found two sets of socks that matched. I’m impressed. I’m lucky to find one set of socks.
This happens to be one of the most beautiful most deepest meaningful post I’ve ever read, good for you! your family is very lucky god bless ya!! Stay sweet strong&most important stay strong!!!
Aww so cute.. I love seeing dads with their sons. He’s going to be a great man!
It’s so true – love IS the cheapest thing to give. Yet it’s also the hardest thing to give, because true love requires so much sacrifice. I think that truly being a parent – man or woman – means being ready to say “My life isn’t about Me right now. Sure, I still have my dreams and goals, but they go on pause for a bit, because making sure that this human being I brought into this world is gonna be able to survive, then navigate it and conquer it comes FIRST now.”
You can always kinda tell when an adult (often someone you’re dating) didn’t have a good man around growing up…. Girls end up with poor if any standards for men, and wonder what they have to do/be/look like/act like/manipulate to “make” a man stay with them… Boys never learn how to channel their energy and not let testosterone rule them, how to be assertive instead of aggressive, that it is possible to be respected without ever raising their fists.
So it is always awesome to see a dad taking an active role in his son’s life and knowing that who his child turns into when he becomes a man will be a reflection of himself.
Glad you enjoyed reading it, hope to see you checking back from time to time
Great story boss! Now only if his dad can start wearing grown man socks! “Who are you, the wicked witch of the east”? lol I like the site!
how incredibly sweet and true. Nothing compares to the love from a child. Good job guys! (you and wifey). It is so wonderful that you are so active in his schooling. He will always know the importance of a good education, because he has a wonderful role model Good job guys! xoxox
