Who am I?
My name is Matthew Ciscart, a married father of one handsome young man of seven years, other wise know as SLMB (Sexy Little Man Beast). I’m a native New Yorker born in the Bronx raised in South Jamaica Queens for the most part, though now I reside in Manhattans Lower East Side. I’m one of eight siblings five brothers and three sisters born of Cuban parents(Family will be deeply discussed more in the future). I stand as the second youngest of the whole lot. While I’ve come to realize that theirs no such thing as a perfect family, mine is by far the closet that feel I will come to that perfect family.
I’ve worked in retail management for the past ten years and though I’ve enjoyed it realized that I can’t see myself doing it another twenty years, so with the help of my loving wife (I will occasionally mention her whether or not she has anything to do with current subject, as it gives her a reason to read my ramblings.), who made it possible for me to go back to school, where my major is Early Childhood Education. My experience with being back in school has been a struggle to say the least, yet, helps me to realize why exactly I’ve chosen education. I’m pretty much starting school from scratch since academics was never my forte and after completing high school only spent half a semester at LaGuardia Community College all the way back in like 1996 or so, where my major was Teacher Education, life has its way of making its rounds. Though this doesn’t quite answer “Who am I?”, it’s a start. So to answer Who am I.
I am a father, a husband, a brother, a friend, a concerned citizen, a mentor to some, a inspiring to others, and even a bad influence to some, though I find that highly debatable, I am Matthew Ciscart. So in all the roles above like everyone else I am a teacher though most say no I say yes, I teach, join me as I journey to become an EDUCATOR.
